In July 2006, George climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa as part of his commitment to CODE, a Canadian non-profit dedicated to advancing literacy in developing countries. George is giving two presentations this month on "Leadership and the Snows of Kilimanjaro"; one to Atlantis Systems International and one to the Lawyer's Professional Indemnity Insurance Company ( LawPro).
Also in February, George spoke to the Leadership Forum at Royal and Sun Alliance Insurnace Company on " The Art and Science of Leadership ". A copy of his remarks can be found in the Speeches and Presentations section of this website.
In July, George lectured at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (O.I.S.E.) on comtemporary thinking on leadership.
In May, 2007, George was appointed as a member of the Independent Review Committee for First Trust Porfolios (Canada).
In September, classes in Leadership Models in Literature and Legend resumed at the Schulich School, York University. See 'blog' section of this website for details.
Since September, George has been offering consulting services to the Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corporation (Canada).
On May 1st, George will deliver the keynote address to the annual conference of the Canadian Coast Guard.
In April 2008, George was appointed to the Executive Committee of Lawyers’ Professional Indemnity Company (LAWPRO).
On June 1, 2008, George participated in the Heart and Stroke Foundation Gardiner/Don Valley ride in memory of his friend, Gaylen Duncan, who died of a heart attack in March 2008.
On June 7, 2008, George was appointed as a Director of the CODE Foundation. This marks the beginning of the 5th year he has served as a Director at CODE or one of its subsidiaries. CODE is a non-profit organization with over 40 years experience delivering literacy program to developing countries.
On June 19, George was re-elected as a Director of RSA Canada (Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance), a member of the Audit Committee and Chairman of the Conduct Review and Pension and Investment Committees.
April 2009, George has accepted to teach his leadership course at the Schulich School, York University, in the Fall term.
June 2009, George will be riding again this year in the Becel Ride for Heart in memory of Gaylen Duncan. The ride is on Sunday, June 7, 2009.
June, 2009 Re-appointed to the Board of RSA Canada (Chair, Pension and Investment Committee; Chair, Conduct Review Committee; and member, Audit Committee) and to the Lawyer's Professional Indeminty Insurance Company (Chair, Special Advisory Committee; member, Executive Committee; member Investment Committee).
July 2009, George was also appointed to the Governance Committee of the Lawyers Professional Indemnity Insurance Company (LawPro).
August, 2009 George joined the Advisory Council of The Knowledge Management Group (TKMG) based in Toronto.
October 23, 2009, Keynote speaker on Leadership to the graduating class of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Speaking engagement on Leadership, Communication and Innovation at the University of Waterloo, Nov 30 and seminar on leadership and the voyage of Endurance for the Dempsey Corporation.
January 2010, George continues to indulge in his love of painting, see Paintings for some of his recent works.
December, 2010. George realized a long held dream by visiting Antarctica and the South Shetland Islands.
May 25, 2011. George gave a lecture on "Sir Ernest Shackleton and the Power of Grounded Optimism" at the Mahone Bay Community Centre.
In June 2011 Mr. Anderson was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of RSA Canada.
